Mountain Valley Kennel
Permanently Closed
Hello,
I want to start by thanking everyone who has boarded their dog with me. There is no greater gift I could be given than knowing you had peace of mind while traveling because your pups were safe and loved at MVK. But MVK is permanently closing on May 10th. Anyone who has their dog booked with me after May 10th needs to find other accommodations.
Why am I closing MVK?
While I have enjoyed caring for your dogs and getting to know you all, I am moving on to a new opportunity.
Do you have a kennel recommendation?
Yes, I do! I have always recommended Ridgeside K9 in Winchester. However, they are a larger or more traditionally sized boarding facility. I know one of the benefits of MVK for my clients has been that MVK is a smaller, quieter kennel than most boarding operations. So I am excited to introduce you all to Phil Kaufmann and Alyssa Doughlas, who are opening Blue Ridge Boarding in Linden. BRB will not be open until late June or early July. Once Blue Ridge Boarding is fully up and running, a highlighted link will be available HERE. Until then, please see below a letter from Phil and Alyssa.
"Blue Ridge Boarding's mission is to provide a safe, secluded, low-volume boarding experience for your dog. Combining our Veteran-led values of integrity with the specialized skills of a Veterinary Technician, we, at Blue Ridge Boarding, strive to create a low-volume, safe, and happy boarding environment where your furry family members are treated like our own. Phil, a retired United States Marine Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, and Alyssa, a Veterinary Technician and dog trainer since 2014, are excited to care for and help your animals. Alyssa and Phil are passionate about healthy and happy dogs, and are excited for our ability to provide a positive experience during your dog's stay with us. With six available bays (with individual exterior runs), and 1.5 acres of fenced yard, your dogs will be provided a happy boarding experience, and 24-hour care." - Phil Kaufmann and Alyssa Doughlas
Thank you all again for allowing me to care for your furry family member,
Katherine Tanner
